Assistant Contract Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project and Business Development Departments in preparing fee proposals and commercial bids to secure new projects and clients.

  • Provide preliminary construction cost estimates (CAPEX) and feasibility input upon client request.

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly progress claims, and ensure timely processing of payments to clients, contractors, and consultants.

  • Assist in compiling reports and commercial data for internal reviews and presentation to client.

  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by senior management from time to time.

 

Pre-Construction Management:

  • Lead the preparation of tender documentation for small-scale projects, such as retrofitting and refurbishment works.

  • Manage the procurement process by inviting and evaluating quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors, including preparation of comparison reports.

  • Coordinate closely with clients and appointed consultants (especially QS) in the preparation of tender documentation and Bills of Quantities for major industrial and factory projects.

  • Advise clients on tender strategies, procurement routes and appropriate contract arrangements, conditions of contract based on project requirements.

 

Construction Stage/ Construction Management

  • Administer all post contractual matters including cost control, variation management and interim valuations.

  • Prepare monthly cost reports, update cost databases, track cash flow and forecast payments.

  • Assess and validate variation order submissions and provide recommendations to clients for approval.

  • Attend project and site meetings to monitor contractual and commercial matter.

  • Manage project budgets to ensure alignment with approved financial targets.

  • Collaborate with QS consultants in preparing final accounts and ensuring timely contract closure.

 

Requirement:

  • Degree/ Diploma in Quantity Surveying or its equivalent.

  • At least 8 years of experiences in Quantity Surveying Practice or Consultancy.  

  • Candidates with experience in M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) trade quantity surveying will have an added advantage.

  • Experience in fast track and industrial projects.

  • Proactiveness and good work ethic.

  • Believing honesty and integrity are important values

  • Responsible, decisive, strong level of self-motivation, initiatives, results oriented and strong sense of confidentiality.

  • Familiar at Auto CAD, Microsoft Office and Excel.

  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Willingness to travel domestically as required by project needs.
